The Hornet is an ultra-portable, air-powered (pneumatic) HEPA vacuum from Clayton, designed specifically for dustless sanding and composites fabrication. It is ATEX-certified for use in combustible-dust atmospheres and engineered to remove coatings containing Hexavalent Chromium (Cr VI), lead, cadmium and other heavy metals, aluminum dust, carbon fiber, ceramic dust, fiberglass and mold. Its corrosion-resistant aluminum body features a bonded, grounded conductive system to prevent static discharge, plus Clayton’s unique Safe Filter Change that lets a technician replace the primary filter without protective gear or exposing other workers to hazardous dust.
The Hornet is offered in five buy configurations that share the identical vacuum core: vacuum only (500-400), the ACE-300 cleanup / FOD pickup package, the ACE-400 basic dustless sanding system (no sander), the ACE-500 complete system with a 5″ random orbital sander, and the ACE-1000 turn-key system with three random orbital sanders (3″, 5″, 6″) plus abrasives and pads. The configurations differ only in the bundled hoses, Pelican case, sanders and abrasives.
