The L.ADU 57 is a right-angled pneumatic positive feed drilling unit from Lubbering’s L.ADU modular standard programme for aerospace applications.

The right-angled version is the optimum shape for applications requiring frontal access to the working area, supporting comfortable handling and a balanced ergonomic component arrangement.

Key Features

Modular design: The system consists of a basis machine, locking system and options, with a uniform interface and Quick Change System. More than 100 possible combinations are available.
Applications and materials: It covers drilling diameters from 4.2 mm to 25.4 mm in aluminium, CFRP, titanium and material stacks.
Drilling performance: It enables one-shot drilling and countersinking, burrless drilling and no delamination in CFRP, with under 10% wear/spare parts.
Drive and feed features: It uses vane or turbine motors, precision lead screw feed, a ground spindle with concentricity under 5 microns, and adjustable coolant tanks feeding drilling emulsion through the spindle.
L.ADU basis 57 data: The basis 57 version offers a weight of 4.5 kg, speed of 300-3,000 rpm, feed of 0.03-0.15 mm/rev, and drive options of 1.2 kW vane on request or 2.3 kW turbine.
