The PH***S sealed hydraulic hand pumps are designed to pump hydraulic oil under pressure into 700 bar(10,000 psi) single acting hydraulic systems.
The Pumps are equipped with a single outlet port and a release valve. When the release valve is closed and the pump is cycled hydraulic oil is forced int to the hydraulic system under pressure – this may be a hydraulic lifting cylinder for example – further cycling of the pump will increase the pressure in the system until the maximum pressure is reached.
At maximum pressure an internal pressure relief valve will open, this prevents further cycling of the pump from increasing the system pressure.
The pressure will be held in the system untill the release valve is opened allowing the oil to return to the pump reservoir.
All RenQuip PH series hand pumps are two stage and fitted with a sealed reservoir. (please see description tab for the operational benefits)
It is important that the correct capacity of pump is selected for the system it is intended to operate.
The PH300S has a reservoir capacity of 300cc
The PH580S has a reservoir capacity of 5800cc
The PH1100S has a reservoir capacity of 1100cc
T he Pumps are supplied complete with hydraulic pressure gauges , gauge block and screw couplers.
The PH****S was initially designed to suit the operation of flange spreaders and to prevent the accidental ingress of air into the hydraulic system when tradition types of pumps where operated when not level – resulting in the requirement to fully bleed the system to resume operations.
When working in limited access areas it can be challenging to keep the pump level – this is resolved with the sealed reservoir design
Sealed Reservoir
The PH pumps are equipped with a flexible oil reservoir that contracts when oil is pumped from the reservoir into the system – this removes the requirement for an air vent that can be found on traditional solid reservoir pumps and eliminates the possibility of accidental oil spillage from the reservoir when the pump is not level.
The flexible reservoir also enables the pump to be used in any orientation without the risk of air entering the hydraulic system. It also prevents contamination or debris entering the Hydraulic system from the atmosphere in which the pump is being operated and therefore protecting the pump and the hydraulic system it is pressurising.
Pressure Relief Valve
All RenQuip hand pumps incorporate an internal relief valve that is factory set to the maximum safe working pressure, when the system reaches this pressure the relief valve opens and further cycling of the pump will only deliver oil back to the reservoir and not into the system – this protects the system from being over pressurised.
Two Stage Pump Piston
The PH range of Hydraulic pumps all incorporate a two stage piston design, this enables a larger volume of oil to be pumped per handle stroke at lower pressure (200 psi) giving faster system actuation, above 200 psi a smaller volume of oil is pumped per handle stroke to ultimately achieve the safe working pressure whilst minimising the required handle force.
