The FSW9K-BRONZE is a mechanical flange spreading tool kit used to separate flange joints for maintenance, Installation, testing and decommissioning. The kit contains two FSW9-BRONZE spreading wedge tools and all items required to operate the tools safely, it is packaged in a robust carry case for easy transport and storage.
The FSW9-BRONZE:
Requires a minimum flange gap of 6 mm (0.24”)
Spreads the flanges with a parallel action ensuring a full 15 mm Jaw step contact is maintained for safe and stable spreading
The FSW9-BRONZE produces a maximum spreading force of 94kN (21,132 lbf) when the maximum torque of 200 Nm (150 lbf*ft) is applied with the Torque Wrench provided in the kit.
A powerful and portable Mechanical tool, the FSW9-BRONZE weighs only 5.5 Kg (12.12 lbs) and is the correct tool when a mechanical tool is required for medium and small sized flange joints.
The FSW9-BRONZE Spark Resistant tool is designed to enter the gap between flanges and force the flange open removing the requirement for traditional rigging equipment and certified anchor points.
It is highly recommended that a minimum of 2 FSW9-BRONZE tools are used when spreading flange joints – This allows the operator to control the opening of the flange joint to maintain a parallel gap – this will ensure the tool maintains a secure grip on the flange and prevent pinching the gasket and potential flange face damage.
The FSW9-BRONZE is actuated by a mechanical lead screw that creates a linear force on the internal wedge – the internal wedge then forces the jaws of the tool apart.
As it is a mechanical tool it is unaffected by ambient temperature and can operate in harsh environments. The Tool is lightweight and portable making it ideal for use in remote locations.
