Consistent, optimized finishing for complex blade designs
Large Blade Finishing
Complex blade designs in aerospace and energy require an advanced finishing process. Decades of surface finishing expertise and precision manufacturing knowledge support consistent jet turbine fan blade quality.

Optimal finish with a minimized scrap rate
Answer to the Challenge
Energy efficiency drives turbine development in the finished product and in manufacturing. Increasingly complex three-dimensional forms make consistent quality difficult to achieve with conventional manual finishing.
Force-controlled finishing is suitable for large blades in jet engines, gas turbines and steam turbines, where extreme precision is essential. It delivers the target finish while minimizing scrap.
Automated finishing in a controlled environment
7-Axis Robotized Platform
A 7-axis robotic platform performs large blade finishing in a wet-process environment. Wet processing is required because sanding turbine blade materials produces highly flammable dust.
Uniform surface quality reduces process waste and scrap while increasing annual production capacity. Software control of the complete cell also reduces operator strain.

L-Series Fan Blade Linishing and Polishing
Suitable for large and heavy workpieces
Linishing Cell
The platform handles workpieces up to 1,800 mm long and 500 kg. Multiple robots can operate in one system to shorten cycle time while the operator safely loads the next workpiece outside the cell.
The cell includes a patented L-Series belt grinder using a 30 x 3,500 mm belt for large surfaces.
